Through the stories of jewels including the Koh-i-Noor and Taj Mahal diamond, the film examines cultural erasure, contested ownership, and a question that remains unresolved: Who truly owns history?

Mina JafriMalik

Director • Producer

Mina JafriMalik is a director, producer, and founder of Audio Visual Alchemy. A former model and actor, her work as a filmmaker focuses on socially conscious storytelling, with particular attention to human rights and underrepresented communities. Her directing credits include the award-winning documentary The Asifa Bano Story and feature film Jameela. She also brings extensive experience in music video direction and production, live events, and charitable arts programming.

Zainab "Izzy" Malik

Director • Writer

Zainab “Izzy” Malik is a director and writer whose creative background spans film and music. She co-directed Jameela and The Asifa Bano Story, serving additionally as a writer and legal counsel on both films. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and an M.S. in Legal Studies, bringing a distinct legal and sociopolitical perspective to her work. Previously known professionally as Izzy in music, she brings a multidisciplinary approach to storytelling across narrative and documentary filmmaking.
